UNITING USERS + CONTENT
Research shows that middle school girls often lose interest in science. Click! is an initiative to counter the negative stereotypes associated with women in math and technology.
I was recruited to help create an urban adventure game for girls to play in real-time and space. The design team utilized on-site interviews and observation to determine audience and then designed a promotional, accordion folded mailer to invite girls to join in.

ORGANIZING VOICE
American high schools often fail to effectively develop voice and identity for many students. To amend this shortcoming in my own high school experience, I created a grassroots project for teenagers to express themselves through storytelling.
Acting as editor, I gathered 18 of my peers to self-published Icarus Rising, an uncensored anthology of poems and essays that could give us an eclectic and cohesive voice.
We sold 600 books, The Washington Post reported our story, and Icarus Rising was recruited by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for use as an academic text. |

DRAWING UNDER PRESSURE
This quickly drawn series, completed in a 30 minute charrette, steadily evolves from representation to abstraction.
Going beyond obvious physical characteristics, the function, motion and contents of the bottle are incorporated as graphic elements that aim to capture the essence of this everyday object.
Each oversized 22 x 30" piece is strong enough to stand alone, yet works effectively as a collection.

MAKE SOMETHING EVERYDAY
Frustrated by resizing images for my iPhone wallpaper, I created a Photoshop template with a layer that mirrors the iPhone's home screen elements (like the time and slider bar). With this template, you can easily create wallpapers for your iPhone and know exactly where elements will fall.
right: Step 1: download the template, create your artwork, turn off the top layer, export the image
bottom right: Step 2: email the photo to your iPhone and "use as wallpaper"
below: inspiration: (1) make a collage, (2) use your monogram, (3) show off your design work, (4) make your mark with a signature
