To launch their business, Women’s Yoga Art Retreat needed an alluring website to reach their target audience — creative, fun-loving women in their 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. Instead of a traditional web aesthetic, the site leverages the style of contemporary women’s magazines. Photos taken by real women on the retreat instead of stock imagery reduced the budget and infused authenticity.

Creative Adventures Inc. enrolls hundreds of 6–12 year old children each year in after school classes and summer camps. The website plays with color, type, motion
and images of work from the art classes to keep kids interested and parents up to date.

DESIGNING A VESSEL
FOR THE SURREAL

The task of creating a professional website for surrealist painter Rosana Azar required a design that communicated her personality without overpower her artwork. Strong, emotive, humanizing type choices and one broad, simple brushstroke aesthetically reinforce her work and spirit.

The initial page literally introduces the viewer to Rosana in the intimacy of her studio. While reading her Vision Statement, the textural detail of her relief paintings—an integral aspect of her work—can be liberally taken in.
